Much of the material for "Ravenloft - The Unofficial Soundtrack" derived from various compositions, improvisations, sketches, and etudes I have created in the last ten years.
Of all this material, I always felt these seven piano pieces best represented the mood I was trying to achieve for the album. I often returned to them for inspiration, and elements of them can be found spread throughout many of the tracks on the Ravenloft album. For this reason, I have retrospectively titled them "Barovian Sketches"
These six tracks are rough recordings I made for myself shortly after I composed the sketches. (A recording for the 7th piece was never made, as I couldn't play it at tempo).
I felt they were too lo-fi and error-ridden to release, but came to realize that for precisely this reason they may be effective tracks for a campaign, or to set a mood in general.
These six tracks are free to download. But for the musically inclined: by purchasing the digital album you will also receive a .pdf of the complete sheet music for each piece (including the 7th). You can also get a professionally printed version of the sheet music, in a 9X12 booklet (shipping begins in November).

Their rasping voices fill the grimy corridors as they scour their maze-like underworld realm for treasure. The stories they tell are mostly lies. There was never a golden age. And while it's true their king still sits in the great hall, that king is just a mummy and his hall is just a tomb. TigerTorakio
